HORSE RELATED EXPERIENCE

• Started riding at age 5 having lessons once a week and competing in local stable-yard shows and gymkhanas.
• Leased first horse at age 12 (1997)
• Acquired first horse in 1999, Sweet Magic.
• Acquired next horse in 2000, Corn Fritter, an unschooled 3year old mare off the track who I schooled and brought on to jump 1.10m. I then passed the horse on to a friend of mine as she was too small for me. She is currently jumping 1.2m in Natal.
• Acquired a difficult and unpredictable mare, Dwelling, in 2001. I worked with this horse for a year, competed on her in 1m classes but decided she was dangerous when ridden and retired her to a nearby farm.
• Acquired a further gelding, Lots of Energy, from my sister. The horse was bought from a dealer as a schoolmaster but turned out to be unpredictable and was subsequently passed to me. I worked on this horse for about 8months, competed in 1m Show jumping classes and novice Eventing. He was then sold as a hack.
• Acquired my top horse, Victorian Eagle, in 2002. I competed on him from 1m jumping up to 1.2m, Novice and Elementary Dressage and open Equitation classes. In 2003 the horse was diagnosed with Low-Articular Ringbone and was retired.
• In 2003 I bought my current horse, Steinway’s Limelight, as a 3 year old. The mare had only been ridden 8 times when I got her. I have been working on her for the past 2years and she is not working consistently on the flat and jumping courses on 1m.
