I have completed my a final year (Last semi) M.Sc in Biotechnology in Bangalore. I have called for interview from IISc for Phd in biochemistry. Along with my study i have Completed training in Recombinant DNA technology,Genetic engineering, Plant tissue culture and Immunological techniques in Shreedhar Bhat's lab(bangalore). I have also done Diploma in Bio-Informatics from Noida. My topic "FUTURE OF NEUROSCIENCE" is published in journal "BIOINFORMATICS TRENDS". My essay "PATRIOTISM" got published in "GENERAL KNOWLEDGE REFRESHER" in October 2005.

Title : RECOMBINANT DNA TECHNOLOGY
Duration : 15 DAYS

Description:
 Basic handling:
a) Handling of equipments.
b) Basic calculations in molecular biology.
c) Media preparation and autoclaving.
 Growth and maintenance of bacteria carrying recombinant plasmid.
 Plasmid DNA isolation and treating it with RNase-A to get rid of RNA content.
 Restriction analysis.
 Gel elution of both vector and insert DNAs separately.
 Ligation reaction.
 Competent cells preparation and transformation.
 Competent cells efficiency testing using known quantity of DNA.
 Screening of transformants through α-complementation test.
 Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) machine handling and reaction.

Title : GENETIC ENGINEERING

Description: In addition to all the contents of project -1, this will have the following aspects.

 Screening of transformants by restriction analysis.
 Transferring the gene construct in binary vectors to Agrobacterium through tri parental mating (TPM).
 Transferring of gene to plant system through Agrobacterium mediated plant transformation.

 Analysis of transgenic plants through PCR for confirming the presence of gene.

 Plant tissue culture media preparation and autoclaving.
 Cleaning and sterilization procedures.
 Isolation of embryos from the seeds and initiation.

 Agrobacterium mediated plant transformation.

Title : IMMUNOTECHNOLOGY

Description:

 Extraction of total proteins from different sources.
 SDS – PAGE for running protein samples from different sources including purified virus.
 Western blotting for immuno detection test.
 ELISA for testing samples for viral (ToMV) infection.

Achievements:
 My essay “PATRIOTISM” got published in “GENERAL KNOWLEDGE REFRESHER” in October 2005.
