Summary: Biochemical studies on Arachis Hypogaea L stressed seedlings aims at finding of salt tolerant variety by

• Monitoring the changes in root and shoot lengths.
• Studying the changes in accumulation of L-Proline a total soluble proteins.
• Determining the membrane damage by monitoring the changes in lipid peroxidation.
• Monitoring the changes in anti-oxidant enzymes like Peroxides, Superoxide dismutase and ascorbate peroxidase.

Since salinity of soil is a major threat to plant growth, finding a salt resistant commercial variety is helpful to agriculturists.

2)”Demonstration of presence of Protease Inhibitory substances in Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L) Seed extracts”

Summary: Analysis of the different variety of Chickpea cultivar was carried out with the following objectives
• To demonstrate the presence of Protease Inhibitory substances in chickpea cultivar seed extracts.
• To determine the optimal pH for the seed extract inhibitory function.
• To test the ability in inhibiting trypsin and chymotrypsin activities.
