07 - August 2007 - Summer Internship with Linear Dimensions. Gained experience in learning and working with Cadence Virtuoso environment using 1.0 µm and 0.5 µm process to design analog circuits and verify them by performing Layout Vs Schematic (LVS) and Design Rule Check (DRC).
• August 2006 - Dec 2007 - Teaching Assistant at the University of Akron, Akron, OH.

PROJECTS
• Analysis and Design of Analog to Digital Converters: Currently working on the analysis and design of different types of ADCs like Flash, Successive Approximation and Capacitive input ADCs that are used in sensor interface applications.

Work Done: Design each block inside the Analog to Digital converter using a 1.0 µm process that includes the DAC, control for successive approximation, and comparator by choosing correct sizes of transistors according to the specification required by the customer.
Perform Analog and mixed signal simulation and verify if the design meets the specification.
Complete layout of the analog design in Cadence Layout Editor and the digital design in Encounter SOC for automatic placement and routing.

Tools: Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre and Incisive simulator, OrCAD Capture, Encounter SOC

• Masters Thesis – “Sampling Method to Reduce Power Consumption in Battery Operated Receivers”- Proposing a wake up circuit design to reduce power consumption in RF receivers used in short range wireless communication applications like the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system and the garage door openers.

Work Done:
Analyze and study the current industrial methods used to reduce power consumption in battery operated receivers.
Board level electronic design of circuits like multivibrators, oscillators and comparators and testing using equipments like oscilloscopes and signal generators. Also includes simulation verification using software tools.

Tools: Circuit designer tools, MATLAB

• Instrumenting a paper production line using sensors and actuators

Work Done:
Various processes involved in the production of paper were studied and a design was proposed to instrument the production line using sensors and actuators.

Careful selection of the sensors and actuators available in the market for the design to meet requirements.

Modeling and simulation of a finger pair in an IDT

Work Done:
A finger pair in an Inter Digital Transducer used in Surface Acoustic Wave devices was modeled using the Mason’s equivalent circuit model and the behavior was simulated using MATLAB.

Tools: MATLAB
