PLACEMENTS AND TRAINING
• Training at Amarjyoti Charitable Trust.
• Summer Training at Urban Health Resource Centre.
• Dietetic Internship at All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The training involved daily bed to bed rounds of various wards like nephrology, urology, endocrinology and surgical patients. The patients’ condition was assessed and accordingly diets were indented for them. The patient were given dietary counseling on diseases like diabetes, acute renal failure etc. The training also involved kitchen duties like receiving supply, supervising the quantity food production and food distribution.
PROJECT WORKS
2005-06:
• Prepared detailed reports on leading NGOs of Delhi as part of course work like Blind Relief Association, Amba Foundation, Bal Sahyog, SOS village etc.
2004-05
• Prepared four important audio visual aids of relevance in nutrition and health education (posters,flashcards, flannel graph kit, flip charts& puppets).
2007-2008
• Project on “Assessment of Diet Quality of children under 3 years of age and Household Food Security in Urban Slums of Meerut city” as a part of summer training program.
• Presented a seminar (Review of Literature) on “Ohmic Heating of Food”.
• Carried out two case observations on “Gastric Outlet Obstruction with
type 2 diabetes mellitus” and “Chronic Kidney Disease” as a part of
dietetic internship.
Dissertation work on-
Diet and Lifestyle risk factor assessment in the development of type 2
Diabetes mellitus in adult Indian males. The study was conducted in Ghaziabad and Noida, 15 cases and 15controls were recruited for the study. The patient’s lifestyle and diet history were assessed using standardized methods. Risk factors which were of importance in the study were urbanization, alcohol consumption,smoking, activity pattern, intake of carbohydrates and fats.

• Attended NFI (Nutrition Foundation Of India)symposium held at IIC, Delhi.
• Attended NFI(Nutrition Foundation of India) symposium “Nutrition & Bone Health” held at IIC, Delhi.
• Attended 3 day International Conference held at Lady Irwin College.
• Attended 2 day Annual NSI conference held at Hyderabad.
• Student Member of NSI (Nutrition Society of India).
VISITS
1) FRAC (Food Research Analysis Centre); Dwarka, Delhi – Chemical Lab, Microbiolgy Lab and Instrumentation Lab.
2) DIPAS (Defense Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences), Timarpur, Delhi –Visited various departments and current ongoing projects.
3) Department of Botany, University of Delhi – learnt about their work on sea weeds and its current usages.
4) ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services)- Visited aanganwadi in Jama Masjid.
5) Visit to Mid Day Meal Programme “ Raghubir Rao Sewa Samiti”, Khichripur.
6) Visit to Primary Health Care Centre, Najafgarh.
7) Visit to Maruti Udyog Industrial Canteen, Gurgaon.
