RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Two-year research work was under taken during post graduate (M.Sc.) study
Thesis Topic: Nutrient analysis and value addition of under utilized fish
The study was under taken with the following objectives:
Determination of Nutritive Value:
Nutritive value of fresh and dried under utilized fish varieties namely Stoliphorus heterolobus, Cynoglossus macrostorus and Kovala koval. Each values were determined using respective methods, namely, moisture, fat and protein using AOAC method, calcium by Page method, phosphorus by Vandomolybdophosphoric yellow colour method, iron by Wong's method, vitamin A by Carr-Price method and peroxide value by Thiosulphate method.
Diacid digestion was carried out in triplicate fish samples.
Carried out chemical/ nutrient analysis with the aid of equipment such as protein analyser, spectrophotometer, soxhlet apparatus, etc.
Product Development
To develop new products, to asses the shelf life subject to various packaging material.
Acceptability of the new product by conducting microbial study such as enumeration of total micro flora (serial dilution and plate count method), Organoleptic evaluation (score card method), benefit cost analysis, statistical analysis (Completely Randomized Design), etc.

Conducted a seminar titled ‘Nutritional Importance of Fish’ at Kerala Agricultural University, Kerala, India.
Underwent dietary internship in the dietary department of Lisie Hospital (1000 bed multi-speciality hospital) Kochi, India.
