Responsibilities: Documenting best practices in promoting gender equality in three Oxfam projects in Northern, Eastern and Southern Sri Lanka and designing, authoring and laying out three booklets on these findings. Thematic focus on displaced women, women survivors of gender based violence and women heads of households.


Sri Lanka Anti-Corruption Action Plan Coordinating Committee—November 2007 to March 2008
Free Lance Consultant
Responsibilities: Convened meetings of the Coordinating Committee and formed the bridge linking the work of the Sri Lanka Anti-Corruption Program and the work of the Coordinating Committee. Compiled a report on the work being done by civil society organizations to promote good governance. Managed all secretarial work of the Coordinating Committee. Established relationships and maintained existing relationships with international donor agencies, government agencies, local civil society organizations and grassroots organizations.


USAID/ARD Anti-Corruption Program (ACP), Colombo, Sri Lanka—March 2006 to November 2007
Consultative Council Coordinator
Responsibilities: Formulated ways of mobilizing civil society and expanded the scope of the ACP’s goals. Built a coalition of actors to strengthen the anti-corruption movement in Sri Lanka. Organized various workshops, conferences and the first ever Anti-Corruption Exposition in Sri Lanka. Identified commonalities between diverse initiatives and linked them in order to strengthen the network of organizations working to improve good governance in Sri Lanka. Raised nearly one million rupees in private sector contributions towards printing a children’s book on anti-corruption. Edited white papers and a children’s book on corruption and Maintained the ACP’s website and Blog.


Global Fund for Women, San Francisco, CA, USA—October 2004 to December 2005
Development Officer
Wrote grant proposals and reports and liaised with Institutional Donors to the Global Fund for Women in raising an annual budget of $12.3 million. Informally assisted the Asia Pacific Programs team in their grantmaking in Sri Lanka and in their emergency response in the aftermath of the December 2004 Tsunami.
