PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
From April, 2007 to present: hired for a confidential assignment for an European company based in Brazil.
APEX-BRAZIL, a Brazilian TPO (Trade Promotion Agency)
from 2004 to April, 2007, due to the legal impossibility of contract renewal within a public entity structure. Position: at first, the only senior responsible for all kinds of public and private contracts, MOU’s (memoranda of understanding between APEX and other TPO’s), international litigation and also for establishing offshore operations in several countries around the world. Nowadays, was indicated to be in charge of all the legal aspects regarding establishing Distribution Centers for Brazilian products all over the world.
Telemar Norte-Leste S.A. (Telecomm Newly-privatized Company)
In this position since 2002. Left this company in late January, 2004.
Position: head of the regional legal dept of Rio de Janeiro State.
Responsible for the general administration of the legal dept. Also responsible for 40 subordinates and more than 80.000 consumer´s lawsuits. Also functioned as a inspector (“interventor”) within the legal dept. After concluding successfully the inspectorial activity within the Regional Rio, was promoted to be the national coordinator of the Legal and Regulatory Section of the Corporate Legal Department at the Telemar headquarters also in Rio de Janeiro. Left the company because of personal reasons at late January, 2004.
Ferroban – Ferrovias Bandeirantes S.A.(Newly-Privatized Railroad Company)
Position: General Counsel and Head of the Corporate/Governmental Affairs Department. September, 2001 to 2002. Because of a merge and acquision that changed the corporate culture completely, I decided to leave this company.
Responsible for the general administration of the legal and corporate affairs department, which included the administration and solution of a very challenging number of labor law litigations (aprox. 5.000 lawsuits filed against this company). Intense governmental and corporate cousenling, especially to the CEO and the Board of Directors as whole. Reestructured and re-establishment of the legal department as a whole.
Natura Cosméticos Ltda. (Large Brazilian Cosmetics Company)
In this position since May, 2000 to August, 2001. Left this position because of an invitation to be the General Counsel and head of the Corporate Affairs Department of a large Railroad Company.
Position: General Legal Manager of the Corporation.
Responsible for the administration of the legal dept (including the international offices). Pro-active consulting services towards all sorts of negatiations, agreements and contracts, either national or internatinal. Coordination of the litigation area, either Criminal or Civil, including the selection and coordination of all off-company legal specialists. Also responsible for all societary and tax matters of the corporation, negotiations with public institutions, in Brazil and abroad. Responsible for all matters related to BNDES, BNDESpar, Banco Central do Brasil, etc.

In this position since February, 1999. Left this leading Internet Provider in May, 2000 because of an invitation to be the general manager of the Legal Affairs Dept. of the above quoted Brazilian leading large corporation.
