• Preseently working as Lecturer at Sinhgad College of Science,Pune in the
Biotechnology Department.

Contribution to college:

1) One of the key initiatives taken by me was to encourage students to take
up projects in Environmental Biotechnology.
As part of the project work, an industrial visit to Zuari Industries was
organised by me where the students were given training on \\\\\\\"Soil Analysis
and Testing\\\\\\\".

2) I was responsible for taking up project work with Centre for Environment and Education (CEE), which is recognized as local expertise centre by the United Nations University.

2) I was also responsible for an Industrial Visit to Orchid hotel to
conduct a study on best practises on Enviromental Management.

3) I was holding charge for giving project work to students on Environmental
Science as part of celebration for Science Day.

4)I have guided T.Y.B.Sc.(Biotechnology) students on the following
projects:
a) Hospital waste management (Dental Waste) by Biosanitizer.
b) Anti-bacterial properties of Ashwagandha
c) Isolation of microorganisms from Vermiculture.

4) I have taken active participation in the cultural events of the college.

5) I have also done a workshop on \\\\\\\"Recombinant DNA Technology\\\\\\\" successfully in Banglore.

1)Attended a three-day workshop on \\\\\\\"Competency & Acquiring Teaching Skills\\\\\\\"
conducted by Sinhgad Academy of Engineering, Kondhwa.

2)Attended a two-day seminar sponsored by Pune University under Quality
Improvement Program on \\\\\\\"Environmental Awareness.\\\\\\\".

3) Actively participated in a two-day seminar on “Recent Frontiers in Sciences” organized by Sinhgad College of Science as a part of Faculty Development Program under University of Pune.

4) Attended a DBT-sponsered one-day seminar, on “Stem Cells in Regenerative Medicine” organised by Sinhgad College of Engineering.

conducted by the Environment Cell of the Institute for the BMC officials.

I. Manager-Marketing

April 2001-April 2002

Software Elements is an Information Technology company providing software
solutions and services in USA, Europe, South Africa and India. It is a
major software development house focusing on Internet, E-Commerce,
Communications and Messaging technologies. Software Elements (SE) was
established in 1995 and it is headquartered in Mumbai, India and has an
office in Fremont, CA. SE has undertaken major contracts for Fortune 500
companies including MCI and Sprint.

The job profile included:

1. Interaction with EDP/IT/Marketing managers of Pharmaceutical
companies.

2. Co-ordinating with technical persons for presentations and
demonstrations of our products esp. CRM

3. Following up with trials and subsequent orders.

4. Following up with the feedback received after demos/ presentations
and co-ordinating with the technical persons for the same.

5. Analysis of pricing position.

6. Identify and select promotional and advertising options.

7. Verbally presenting ideas and information.

8. Writing marketing and promotional briefs.

9. Updating database of Pharmaceutical companies.

11. Collaborating with other IT companies for marketing.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

1. Within a short span, generated database of about 75 companies of
which more than 50 % are Pharmaceutical companies.
2. Gave successful presentations to top Pharma companies. This includes
Novartis, German Remedies, Associated Capsules, Khandelwal Laboratories, JB
group of companies, Neon Laboratories, Pfizer, Knoll Pharmaceuticals,
Kopran, etc.

3. I was involved in selecting promotional and advertising options for
our Customer Relationship Management package like advertisements in Express
Pharma Pulse, a weekly magazine for the Pharmaceutical industry from the
India Express Group.

4. I have also penned marketing and promotional briefs on the same.

Interactive Impact, a website designing company, launched its own vertical
pharma portal, www.mypharmachem.com. Basically, the site is database
information catering to the Bulk Drug Industry.
The work profile included:

1. Constant Analysis of all the competitive sites, Indian and
International, alongwith reporting on the content status and progress of
each.

2. Constant Analysis of related comparative sites, Indian and
International, alongwith reporting on the content status and progress of
each.

3. Detailed information architecture of mypharmachem.com,
day/week/monthwise indicating the progress in content and data.

4. Monitoring of database activity with status reports on various data
content.

5. Identification of new content required for the site.

6. Identification of sources for the new content for the site like
consultants, publications, related sites. Etc.

7. Monitoring the site content and looking after the accuracy and
authenticity of the uploaded content at all times.

8. Coordinating with the marketing team for content aggregation activities.


9. Strategising for mailing activities with generation of mailing letters.

10. Data capturing for site visitors, data entries, advertisers, etc.

11. Coordinating with the marketing team to supervise the data entry and
details of all established and potential contacts.

12. Testing of the site and software with daily reports.

Major customers were pharmaceutical companies and hospitals. Started with
the post of Marketing executive and promoted to Sr. Marketing Executive
within a year. Last responsibility held as Manager-Marketing in charge of
Pune region leading a team of two executives.

Sanosil Biotech Pvt. Ltd is formed in technical collaboration with Sanosil
AG of Switzerland, which is a multinational with presence in 10 countries.
Its eco-friendly formulations find applications in Pharmaceuticals,
Hospitals and Mineral Water Industry and Sewage treatment.
Their chief products include Virosil, Virosil Pharma and Sanosil range of
products.

The work profile included:

i. Interaction with department heads like Quality Control, Quality
Assurance, Microbiology and Operation Theatres.

ii. Giving technical support to the persons mentioned above and
consequently following up with the results and orders.

iii. Giving technical support to Marketing Executives.

iv. Promotional activities like exhibitions.

v. Updating database.

I. Started with 9 pharmaceutical companies and within a year developed 100
companies as customers. This included top pharmaceutical companies like
Cipla, Nicholas Piramal, E. Merck, Ranbaxy.

II. Developed large database through exhibitions and achieved 100%
conversion to orders.

III. Started as Marketing Executive. Last responsibility was Manager-
Marketing and was assigned expansion of customers (pharmaceutical and
hospitals) in Pune region.
TECHNICAL TRAINING:

1. Completed short-term training in Water Analysis and Spectroscopic
analysis from Advanced Training Institute, a Government organisation
imparting training in Analytical Chemistry.
