Description |
Broadcast Access (Outside Broadcast variant) product provides vision and audio services from UK venues for UK domestic and International Broadcasters. These products are based on broadcast interface NTEs connected directly to fibre. Openreach would provide the access component that allows CP’s networks to provide fibre based broadcast connectivity to media companies in the UK. These services shall be used as an input product to provide Broadcast services to Television, Media and production companies in the UK and associated International services. Broadcast Access (OB variant) products can be used for both unidirectional and bi-directional broadcast connectivity over a fibre. This involves a video based NTE being provided at the exchange end and in the OB van connected on single fibre, which would check the framing of the video signal and provide electrical-optical conversion. The E-O convertor would be housed in the exchange and the O-E convertor would be housed inside an OB van.
Note: To test and ensure that L2C(Lead to Cash) and T2R(Trouble to Resolve) transactions can be performed successfully |

Description |
21CN Test Factory of BT has several modules like Woosh, Neo, Eco, and MIME Etc. Developed by MBT. I was involved in Testing MIME Application. MIME (Management of Infrastructure Migration from the Local Exchange) is a system that is to be used to manage the transfer of CPs’ (Communication Providers) routes and circuits from their current DLEs to NGS switches, in advance of a further transfer onto MSANs. To provide continuing connectivity to the customers at the DLE layers, prior to the migration from DLE to MSAN layer, all the DLE’s needs to be migrated to NGS with some backhaul routes. At the later stage while migrating from NGS to MSAN layer, the backhaul routes will be switched to connect NGS to the MSAN. MIME, as an application in Transfer Engineering platform, requires database as Oracle8i and the front end consists of web pages. MIME has the following features:- v Notice board, which will display messages targeted at individual users, groups of user or all users. v Management of SAN (System Alteration Notification) documents, and the process of sending them to the CP’s by email. v View DLE’s and changes their date of transfer. v View and modify CP details (address, contact details, etc.) v MIS (currently only a timeline which shows planned and actual dates for activities, and their RAG status) v Calendar, which shows outstanding and completed tasks ( color coded by RAG status) for any user v User administration, which allows users to be added, removed, and their details to be changed (password, roles, manager, email address, etc.) v UPDATE where user can update their corresponding tasks and tasks date.

Description |
21CN Test Factory of BT has several modules like WOOSH, Neo, Eco, MIME, PACS Etc. Presently I am involve in Testing PACS Application.
PACS (Planning Assigning and configuration System) and GB (Graphical Browser) as the front End Application. Scheme creation, adding cards, Mux, Mux Protection, Creation of SVLAN, Lag and LDP Creation is done using PACS.
Due to creation of these network elements, response is generated from PACS and sent to UII (Unified Inventory Interface which is a database) and V21 (Vserve 21 which is a DAALI (Design Assign Activate Logical Model) in the form of XML’s. The xml checks are performed in the PACS to UII and PACS to V21. The PACS to V21 interface is called the Inventory/Activation Interface. The VerticalV21 test cases deal with creation of SVLAN (Service Virtual Local Area Network) and covers area s viz. LAG, LDP, Primary VLAN management, Voice Signaling. Here xml checks are done for the response received on the creation of SVLAN’s in PACS. Other areas deal with Broadband VLAN and DNS Names
The data from V21 and UII is sent further across to NH21 (Net Health 21), where GUI based and UNIX based verifications are done in NH21, for the equipments created in PACS. Further NetHealth21 will generate the required file; this file will be pulled by UMT using SCP (Secure Copy Protocol).
NetHealth21 needs to provide utilization data to UMT for Capacity Management. The reports should be able to present data at aggregated levels (Service, PoP, Node, Equipment, Card, Port) if required. An interface will be created between Nethealth21 and UMT. Specific CPU, Memory, Bandwidth utilization data files needs to be generated for use by UMT. This file will be placed on NH21 server at pre-defined time.

Description |
Provident by Tertio Company is a high performance, multi-domain service activation system that basically provides Service Activation to Telecom Service Provider companies. It provides a layer between business support systems (BSS) and network elements and other service platforms. This layer prevents the BSS systems from requiring any knowledge of network equipment and centralizes the business rules required for activating services. The network elements receive the EPT requests from the agent for provisioning of a particular service. The EPT’s thus received is processed and the necessary service is provisioned.
The Provisioning behavior of Network Element is simulated to perform the testing of Provisioning Agent.
The NE Nokia SRR (Service Routing Register) Center is responsible for presenting primary routing information and additional routing information, which includes association, routing number, numbering plan, type of number etc. The Nokia HLR (Home Location Register) is responsible for presenting a service-provisioning interface to Provident and responding to provisioning instructions. |
