Training period:
• Undergone one month of training in “Brown &Burks” Pharmaceutical Company.
• Experience in various steps involved in production of injectables and tablets.
• Experience on water & product quality assurance using various biochemical and microbiological techniques.

Industrial visits:
• Had a visit to Indian Immunologicals limited (IIL-Hyderabad) where I visually experienced the stages involved in vaccine production. Mainly the production of anthrax vaccine, rabies vaccine (raksha), Food Mouth Disease vaccine and other animal vaccines.
• In IIL I learnt about Design and compliance to GMP norms.
• Had a visit to a Clinical Research Organization “Aurigene biotech”, Bangalore, where I had exposure to different analytical techniques and methods of documentation.
• Had a visit to “Bharath Biotech”, Hyderabad, where I had visual experience of
Hepatitis B- recombinant vaccine production.

Lab experience:

• Microbiological techniques- during the final semester project in dept. of microbiology, TNAU I had worked on various techniques of isolation, characterization, preservation. Experience of working in level1, level2, level3 containment.

• Chromatography techniques for separation and characterization of different
amino acids. Hands on experience in TLC, column chromatography & HPLC.

• Enzyme assay techniques- using UV-spectrometer. During the final semester project
Biological activity of E.carotovora was estimated by its enzyme activity.

• Synthesis and purification of Aspirin and other simple bio-organic molecules .Other simple biochemical test to identify active ingredients and impurities in the product. Determination of melting point and crystallization of the products.
• Studies on batch reactor kinetics. Calibration and operation of Bio-reactor.

• Agarose gel electrophoresis (DNA-RNA characterization), SDS PAGE (protein characterization), PCR techniques.

• Recombinant DNA process in Escherichia.coliDH5α using genetic engineering techniques.

• Hands on experience in ELISA testing. During the project I had determined the relative activity of enzyme pectinase at different micro molar concentration using colour change in ELISA.

• Immunological techniques of raising antibody serum and its purification, along with animal handling. This involved in handling of mice and rabbit. Well trained in isolation and purification of antibodies using different immunological techniques.

Project works:
• “Analysis of Quorum quenching in Bacillus cereus” under the guidance Mr.Chittibabu M.Tech, GCT, Coimbatore.
• “Isolation and characterization of wild type Erwinia carotovora and screening of various plant derived antipathogenics for E.carotovora based on quorum quenching mechanism” under the guidance of Dr.Ramalingam, TamilNadu Agricultural university, Coimbatore.

Achievements and extracurricular:
• Appeared for second level in National talent search exam.
• Cleared preliminary test in IIT-JEE.
• Active role in organizing National level seminar on “current trends in biotechnology”
• Participated in national level symposium on “Intellectual property rights” conducted by Dr.M.Sivanandam.
• Runner up in inter college level table tennis competition
