Laser Raman spectra of statistically significant number of malignant and normal oral tissue samples. To develop and establish an objective statistical evaluation method for discrimination between malignant and normal oral tissues and evaluate the suitability of the model by testing sufficient number of blind runs for comparison with pathological results from same samples for routine use in diagnosis and screening in oral malignancy.
Responsibilities: I have recorded Raman spectra of normal, gingival (inflammatory), premalignant and malignant oral tissue samples and analysed the data by Principal Component Analysis (PCA) using GRAMS 32 software. I have developed standard calibration models for each class of samples and evaluated the methodology for discriminating normal from gingival, premalignant and malignant oral tissues. To evaluate the efficacy of the model, I have also carried out "blind studies", where the nature of the sample is not known to the spectroscopist.
February 2003- August 2003.
Worked as an Assistant facilitator at Amdon BioVigyan Pvt. Ltd, Delhi.
I have taken an active part in developing and implementing a comprehensive in-house training program. I have assisted in course development and classroom instruction.
Oct 2001- February 2002.
Worked as a Bioinformatics trainee at M/S. Manvish Infotech Ltd, Bangalore.

ACADEMIC PROJECT
“Protein modeling of rpb11 and dbp8 from Saccharomyces ceveresiae”.
The objective was to model a protein (dbp8) in yeast using MODELLAR software and verify its accuracy, thereby reducing the time taken by experimental biologist to predict the structure by wet lab experiments. Another protein rpb11 was modeled using an online tool Swiss Model.
