Title : WESTERN BLOTTING ANALYSIS OF PCNA
Institute : Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore
Description : Western blotting is a technique for identifying the presence of a specific protein in a mixture. The mixture is separated by gel electrophoresis, and the separated bands are transferred onto a polymer membrane. A readily detectable antibody is then added and if the protein in question is present, this will bind to it, so identifying it. It is named by analog with southern blotting.
