• February 2007 - Final year literature review was based on the application of Nanoparticles in cancer treatment and its mechanism & interaction with the cancerous tissues. The main focus of the review was the effective binding of Nanoparticles combined with the tumor specific drug. The ‘Nanotechnology and its applications to medicine’ presentation was given to the Biophysics department which drew appreciation from the Head of Biophysics.

• October 2004 – Completed a project on Gene therapy involving studies on recombinant DNA technology & genetic engineering. Studied problems dealing with gene abnormalities occurring in hereditary diseases.

• September 2003 - Set up an exhibit for chromosomal aberrations and Polymerase Chain Reaction during the annual biotechnology science exhibition.

• Initiated an awareness drive representing the department of Biophysics for Nanotechnology (specifically Nanoparticles as drug delivery vehicles) at the University exhibition ‘Amalgamation of science with society’.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Recognition for the project work & presentation on Nanotechnology in the final year of the Master’s programme which received the highest scores.

• Awarded a scholarship prize for being among the top three students in the department of Biophysics during the Master’s program
