Budget preparation: • Co-ordinate and Assist with the preparation of budgets for 3 provinces (Eastern Cape, Free State and Mpumalanga) • Monitor and assess budgets to facilitate alignment with broad national priorities • Participate in the proceedings of the annual provincial MTEC hearings and compile reports on decisions taken and provide support, guidance and monitor implementation of the PFMA• Assist in co-ordinating the implementation and roll out of own revenue model and forecasting•

Budget analysis: • Analyse and monitor provincial budgets to ensure credibility and that revenue matches expenditure • Draft monthly reports on expenditure and revenue for three provinces and assist with the publication of quarterly provincial Section 32 information including conditional grants • Assist with responses to problems or emergencies in provinces • Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of provincial budget databases•

Budget implementation and monitoring: • Co-ordinate the collection of budget and non-financial data from provinces for the annual IGFR, Medium-term Budget Policy Statement and Budget Review• Maintain provincial budget database, Evaluate IYM reports and compile monthly reports on the state of expenditure and revenue for three provinces• Draft schedules, reports and presentations to identify trends• Assisted in maintain a database of the payment schedule for all conditional grants and monitor on monthly basis the progress on annual provincial payments schedules in terms of the Division of Revenue Act• Assist in monitoring Provincial own revenue• Participate in provincial visits as well as non financial information visits•
