Traffic Management Specialist: Global Container Management, Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, 661 Sheppard Place, Ft. Eustis, VA; 03/08/2004 to present.

Manages staff performance in the resolution of container ownership and provides disposition instructions for containers in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and the Continental US (CONUS). Developed the ownership research process and database used by Global Container Management. Liaison between installations, military units and the DOD Services Headquarters in resolution of container ownership management and transportation issues. Trains all new members to the Global Container Management division.

Key Achievements:
• Directed ownership research for over 150,000 containers resulting in $500,000.000 cost savings to the government.
• Initiated the automation of the unresolved container owner research process to compensate for the increasing workload.
• Coordinated the return of lost ocean carrier containers to the container owners resulting in $100,000.00 cost savings to the government.
• Selected to attend an extensive training course in logistics which prepares civilian managers for executive positions.

Traffic Management Specialist: 841stTransportation Battalion, Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, 1050 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC. 03/2002 to 03/2004.

Directed truck, rail and vessel operations (commercial and military vessels). Identified specific customer needs in loading, handling, and disposition of cargo. Provided guidance to US Army Reserve Components and the stevedore contractor regarding transportation, staging and vessel loading. Acted as the Contracting Officer’s Representative and monitored the stevedore contractor’s performance to include safety, submission of accurate documentation for services performed and meeting mission requirements.

Key Achievements:
• Civilian in charge of the reception, staging and data collection using LOGMARS scanners for cargo loaded on an Army Preposition Ship destined for Southwest Asia.
• Member of the Deployment Support Team to Savannah, Georgia off-loading multiple vessels loaded with redeployment and retrograde cargo for a total over 5,000 pieces of rolling stock and containers.
• Received an Army’s Medal of Achievement for Civilian Service.

Transportation Specialist; Office of the Chief of Transportation (OCOT), 705 Read Street, Fort Eustis, VA 23604; 07/2000 to 03/2002.

Successfully completed a program of professional development training leading to full performance grade of GS-11 in Career Program Field 24 (Transportation). Formal classroom training emphasized transportation, supply, maintenance, financial management and leadership development.
