DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist patients with general hygiene and personal care activities.
Attends to the nutritional care and needs of the patient.
Prepare and serves oral feeds and other nourishments to patients.
Assist with the feeding of patients when necessary.
Perform naso- gastric tube feeding for designated patients.
Assist patient to ambulate.
Prepare patients for physical examination and other minor procedure.
Takes temperature, pulse, and respiration, weight, and height, blood pressure of stable patients.
Assist the staff nurses in:
a) Fetching patient from operating theater.
b) Assist the staff in doing the last offices.
c) Sending and transferring patient to high dependency unit.
d) Sending patients for non –invasive vascular procedure.
e) Prepare rooms for the new cases coming from operating theater.
Sends urgent blood specimens and collect blood products from blood bank.
Assist in the admission, transfer and discharge of patients to and from the ward.
Attends to patient’s call and relays patient’s request to the nurse in-charge.
Prepare equipments or item to send to operating theater.
Demonstrate good interpersonal relationship towards staff, patients, and patient’s relatives.
Responsible in tidiness and replenish of surgical supplies in every room
Assist in maintaining the general cleanliness of the ward.
Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing manager.
