Rural, Socio-Economic survey, consisting of interviewing the artisans, shopkeepers, tourists visiting the study area and travel agencies to understand the various linkages in the tourism sector.
Collected Secondary data & information related to tourist arrival, duration of stay of the tourists and their expenditure
Gathered information about the various handicrafts produced in the desert region, and its historical background.
Collected data from the tourist and handicrafts offices of New Delhi, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur & Bikaner districts for better understanding of this industry.

Temporal literature review of tourism industry in India in general and Rajasthan in particular. With special reference to infrastructure & policies for the tourism industry, problems and its role in development.
o INDUSTRIAL AND SOCIO ECONOMIC SURVEY OF ALIPUR VILLAGE (DELHI BORDER) (January 2001)
Visited the village for 20 days with a team of 30.
Understand the industrial composition of the area and the scale of various industries in the village
Through Socio –Economic Survey We tried to analyse the family & caste composition of the village as well as educational & employment status.
Emphasis of the survey was on preparing the detailed Map of the village with respect to morphology (industrial & residential) of the village.
