Human Resource Director Department Head of Human Resources for the Houston stations, Fox 26, UPN, My 20, FTS-Regional Sports Network. Managing about three hundred employees and contract vendors with one HR headcount during the first three years. Built a credible and trustworthy Human Resource program including employee relations; recruiting and retention; training; compliance and regulatory reporting and audits; the performance management program; compensation administration; benefit administration; and employee incentive programs.

 Successfully merged two stations, KRIV and KTXH. Re-organized engineering and engineering tech staff structure reducing headcount. Also worked hands on with the breakdown and sale of engineering systems for the previous UPN site.

 Managed the EEO/AAP compliance programs for the company by creating an environment where diversity is both recognized and valued resulting in achieving the recommended annual AAP goals. Aced DOL audits.

 Devised a plan and renovated the recruiting program to locate qualified candidates that had the potential to be incorporated into the succession plan.


 Created fair and equitable recognition or performance re-direction. Avoided court room decisions and publicity by negotiating complex agreement packages between the employee and the company. Reduced complaints filed in 2006 to one ruled in our favor and zero employment law suits.

 Managed/Negotiated employment contracts/packages maintaining a net 4.0 to 4.8 % overall increase annually. Annual Staff compensation increase of 3.6%

 Implemented training tracks for leader and employee development directed by succession plan. Training was an integration of experts from the company and external sources.

 Responsible for administration of benefit plans including Life, Medical, Dental, Vision, AD&D, Short/Long Term Disability, Metro Life, Pension, and 401K. With IT created local HR Intranet with links to benefit vendors. Incorporated additional innovative tools and services, locally.

 Governed Safety and Security Programs. Safety included training, communication, emergency/ disaster planning and property/auto liability claims management. Security included daily quality control of Security Services, policy enforcement, threat assessment, and execution of corporate directives.

Fox Cable Network Services, Houston, Texas 1997-2000 Houston Operations Center is the hub for FOX Sports Net (FSN) and related networks. At this location 16 different networks are broadcast through cable both nationally and internationally. Among the many updates and new systems implemented during this three period highlights included the expansion of five networks to sixteen; upgraded from analog/manually operated programming to digital operation; and integrated asset management and end-to-end broadcast monitoring and error detection systems.
Human Resource Manager Created Human Resource presence and accountabilities locally. Partnered with executives, provided consultation, and delivered successful programs to recruit and retain technical staff; improved communications; rewarded performance and growth; created a positive, productive win-win work place. Managed 350-400 nationally without additional HR headcount.
 Initiated Recruiting program for RF Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Engineering techs. Conceptualized and implemented in-house technical training program for the severe Engineering Techs shortage.
 Decentralized national trafficking and product distribution units in Houston, New York and Los Angeles to individual stations across the US. The systems transition appeared seamless to our network customers.
 Compensation analysis revealed that key technical positions needed significant adjustment (38%). Developed a progressive comp strategy to reduce financial impact.
 Collaborated, coordinated, and created training for Sr. Management, Management and staff in Houston and New York utilizing Company Executives, Company Legal Team, External Consultants, and Human Resources respectively.
 Employee Champion. Pro-actively resolved problems through effective listening, negotiating and preventative measures. No lawsuits or claims were filed during my tenure at the Houston Fox unit. Also practiced strategies to avoid union formation in an industry where unions prevail. An attempt to incorporate the staff at Fox 26 was unsuccessful.
 Set up Houston Net Ops Human Resource function in compliance of federal, state, and local laws, providing timely and legally compliant reports, responses, and audit requests.

Solo Serve Corporation Houston, TX 1991 - 1994
District Human Resource Manager Consulted with over thirty managers and fifteen Human Resource representatives. Employees per district ranged from a base of 350 to 550.

 Organized and prioritized new location openings into a detailed schedule of events. Within two years, opened ten 10 locations on schedule and on budget.
