Patrols an assigned area of the City by foot and motorized vehicle, tagging vehicles for violations of parking regulations and statutory vehicle registration laws.
Writes, issues, and records summonses for parking violations including vehicles parked in violation during emergencies, expired meters, vehicles in tow away zones or truck zones, blocking building entrances or fire hydrants or in violation of rush hour zones.
Tows and impounds vehicles violating parking regulations and in accordance with the law.
Testifies in court relative to parking enforcement..

A community Service Officer works in the Minneapolis Police Department while enrolled as a full-time student in an approved, two or four-year law enforcement program to prepare them to be Minneapolis Police Officer.
