• Recruit, orient and manage IRA technical volunteers and consultants for all Africa projects;
• Design and modify agreements with UNESCO for joint “Reading for All” initiatives in the Africa region;
• Implement two-year $150,000 Ford Foundation grant supporting leadership, professional development, and regional conferences in Africa and Latin America;
• Facilitate IRA publication of Africa and Latin America regional research on literacy issues, and commissioned technical papers by IRA members;
• Locate speaker sponsorships of more than $200,000 total from UNESCO, World Bank, UNICEF, Ministries of Education, Shell Company and other international agencies;
